Verification

If you want to list items on ibay, you need to get at least Phone/SMS-Verified first. ID Verified status is an additional verification we provide. Verification is done to create more trust among the ibay community members. Please read below for instructions.

Phone/SMS-Verified Status
When registering on ibay, you will be asked to enter your 7-digit local mobile number. After completing registraion, from the registered number, send an SMS to 7900960 (SMS Only) in the format "REG <your ibay username> ". We will SMS a verification code to your mobile number. Login to ibay, go to My ibay >> Profile and enter the code received in the Verification Code field and Submit.  To confirm if your account has been verified, check at the bottom of the left menu (while in My ibay) and see the status next to your username.

We may reset the verification code from time to time. The new code will be sent to your Mobile Number. Please ensure this is a number you have access to.


ID-Verified Status
To get ID-Verified, please fill the application form (go to "File >> Download original" to save a copy) and contact us.
This status means we have verified the users identity and hold copies of identity documents of the user.

IMPORTANT: Please understand that Verification does not mean that we guarantee that the seller would honor the transactions you do with them. Always contact Sellers directly and meet them before making any purchase commitments or payments. Also, never make advance payments to Sellers you don't know.
