User Classification & Verification
Please read this carefully to understand what the User/Seller classifications mean.
What it Means:Premium Seller means the User/Seller has paid a fee for listing and we have called the Seller to verify.
How to Become a Premium Seller:If you want to become a Premium Seller, please send a Private Message to user "ibay" requesting for Premium Seller status. There is a monthly fee for this service. Please note that changing the status to Premium Seller is entirely at our discretion.
What it Means:SMS-Verified means that we have on record a mobile number to which the user have/had access to. We require all new Sellers to get SMS-Verified
How to become SMS verified:
New Users: When registering, in the field Mobile No., enter your 7-digit local mobile number to which you have access to. Then, from the registered number, send an SMS to 7900960 (SMS Only) in the format "IBAY your ibay username ". We will SMS a verification code to your mobile number within a day. You need to enter this in the field "Verification Code" when you modify your profile. Save the profile and check if the verification status is displayed as SMS-Verified.
Existing User: From you mobile number, send an SMS to 7900960 (SMS Only) in the format "IBAY your ibay username ". This number will be entered in your profile as your Mobile No. We will SMS a verification code to your mobile number within a day. You need to enter this in the field "Verification Code" when you modify your profile. Save the profile and check if the verification status is displayed as SMS-Verified.
We may reset the verification code from time to time. The new code will be sent to your Mobile Number. Please ensure this is a number you have access to.
IMPORTANT: Please understand that Verification does not mean that we guarantee that the seller is genuine and would honor the transactions you do with them. Always contact Sellers directly and meet them before making any purchase commitments or payments. Also, never make advance payments to Sellers you don't know.
